What's in a name? The Cuvac

One of a series about the large, white, livestock guardian dogs (LGD) of Europe.

From:  The Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI), the World Canine Organization, founded in 1911.
"For centuries, he has been accustomed to the harsh climate of the Slovakian mountains, especially the Tatra Mountains. His vigilance and alertness helped to give him his name, as the Slovak word 'cuvat' means 'to hear.'”
