Dog days of summer - what are they?
Some sources say the phase of the Dog Days lasts from July 3 through August 15, but can be extended 30 days or even 61 days. And the comment above says it's from "mid-to-late summer."
Some say it's "vaguely applied to to the hottest days of summer."
