Action photo - 36

This photo from Turkey shows the determination of the LGDs to protect their flocks from attack from air or land.

Another example of this protective instinct: My Dori would protect us from the Goodyear blimp that would fly over our house on its way to the football stadium on game day. She never went airborne, like this dog, but she'd run back and forth underneath the blimp, barking furiously the whole time.

And here's another example of this protective instinct. Click here to see: facebook.com/drone and Maremma in Australia

About the family of Livestock Guardian Dogs...

“To this day flocks are guarded in the hills of Asia, Europe and Africa* by powerful, robust dogs that are neither clumsy nor pacific. Despite the distances that separate them these breeds have much in common, and the Kuvasz is a member of this extended sheepdog family.”
