The "Real" Black Friday -- Ditta at the mall (This photo was not taken in December during the Christmas shopping season)

Tiina of Kennel Coldblow in Finland shares this photo of a 2/1/21 visit to the Mylly shopping mall with her Kuvasz Ditta in Finland.

The "real" Black Friday is held the fourth Friday in November, the day after Thanksgiving, which is the 4th Thursday in November.

Thanksgiving is a real, official, national holiday. Black Friday, on the other hand, is the day merchants created to encourage shopping for Christmas. (Although, I've seen quite a few Black Friday ads running in November this year.) Toy drives and food drives are also held.

I thought I'd add this bit of information because I've heard that other countries have adopted The Black Friday shopping style, (but not Thanksgiving, of course.)

About the family of Livestock Guardian Dogs...

“To this day flocks are guarded in the hills of Asia, Europe and Africa* by powerful, robust dogs that are neither clumsy nor pacific. Despite the distances that separate them these breeds have much in common, and the Kuvasz is a member of this extended sheepdog family.

*(and now also in North America, South America and Australia)
