Kuvasz "cousin" -- Pyrenean Mastiff in Hawaii

Meghan in Hawaii shares this photo and story of her Pyrenean Mastiff, Moon, who watches over their farm to protect crops from deer. See their story here:
"We raise Kunekune pigs, Nigerian dwarf goats and some interesting breeds of chicken - the original reasons we imported the Pyrenean Mastiffs. Our primary crops are grass and forage for our pigs - obviously the deer love it too."

About the family of Livestock Guardian Dogs...

“To this day flocks are guarded in the hills of Asia, Europe and Africa* by powerful, robust dogs that are neither clumsy nor pacific. Despite the distances that separate them these breeds have much in common, and the Kuvasz is a member of this extended sheepdog family.”
