The official name for the breed is

It's a breed of livestock guardian dog indigenous to southern Poland, originating in Podhale region, in the Tatra Mountain area of Poland, hence the breed's name. The breed should always be called the Polish Tatra to indicate it's from the Polish side of the Tatra Mountains, not the Slovakian side of the Tatra Mountains.

Other names are:
Polish Tatra Sheepdog,
Polski Owczarek Podhalanski (or Sheep-dog of Podhale, Poland)
Polish Mountain Sheepdog

Info on the location:

The Tatra MountainsTatras, or Tatra (Tatry either in Slovak (pronounced [ˈtatri]) or in Polish (pronounced [ˈtatrɨ])- plurale tantum), is a mountain range that forms a natural border between Slovakia and Poland. This is the highest mountain range in the Carpathian Mountains. The Tatras should not be confused with the Low Tatras (SlovakNízke Tatry), which are located south of the Tatra Mountains in Slovakia.
The red arrow is the location of Podhale. The green area just south of it is the Tatra Mountain range in the Carpathian Mountains.
