Puppies show characteristic pigment

Claudia of Kuvasz vom Höllenbrand in Germany shares this photo of her 2-week-old puppies.

This photo showcases the distinctive coloring of the Kuvasz:

“The colour of the skin under the hair is also slate grey, best seen on the belly, where the hair is less thick than on the rest of the body....
“The skin has a lot of pigment, and is slate grey. The nose, the eyelids and the lips are always black....
The pads are dark grey, the nails slate grey.”
